White Invitations With Just a Hint of Pink (Invitatii albe cu doar o idee de roz)

I designed these invitations in December for a spring wedding. If I got married again, I would chose these invitations, a lacy dress, soft pink ranunculus and peonies bouquet, lots of lace and vintage items, lots of white, ivory and just hints of soft pink. And let's not forget the pearls.

Am creat aceste invitatii in Decembrie pentru o nunta de primavara. Daca ar fi sa ma casatoresc din nou, as alege aceste invitatii impreuna cu o rochie din dantela, buchet din ranunculus si bujori roz-pal, multa dantela, lucruri vintage, mult alb, nunate de crem-fildes si ici-colo roz pal. Sa nu uiam perlele.

Fuchsia Quinceanera Invitations

The best part of designing invitations is being challenged to step out of my comfort zone like it happened with these quinceanera invitations.

Cea mai frumoasa parte a muncii de designer de invitatii este atunci cand clientii te imping dincolo de limitele tale de confort. La fel s-a intamplat si cu aceste invitatii pentru un bal de quinceanera unde mi s-a cerut sa folosesc fuchsia impreuna cu alb si auriu.
[Quinceanera reprezinta o traditie specifica Americii Latine catolice si marcheaza intrarea in maturitate a fetelor la implinirea varstei de 15 ani. De obicei acest eveniment se celebraeza cu un bal asemenator unei nunti, in functie de veniturile familiei.]



Michell asked for a fuchsia white and gold color palette. I would have never used this combination (esp. fuchsia) had it not been for her. And oh how I love the result.

Daca nu era Michell eu nu as fi folosit niciodata fuchsia. Nici nu aveam carton de acesta culoare in atelier, insa acum imi place rezultatul.



I love the star although the initial butterfly idea seemed more feminine and my style. Again, you would have never seen a star on one of my invitations without my client's challenge. Thank you, Michell! I loved playing with this.

Imi place steaua, dar ideea initiala cu fluturele fuchsia mi-a placut mai mult. Cred ca ar fi rezultat o invitatie mai feminina si mai aproape de stilu meu. Din nou, nu as fi avut un design cu stea daca nu era provocarea clientei mele.




Really great colors. Working with fuchsia has opened a whole new perspective for my designs. How about wedding invitations in these colors?

Lucrul cu fuchsia mi-a deschis noi perspective. Mi-ar placea aceasta combinatie chiar si pentru o invitatie de nunta.



It seems my invitations in boxes are really taking over the ones in normal envelopes although I originally adopted them for the bulky invitations.

Din nou cutii.... Desi initial le-am adoptat pentru invitatii mai voluminoase care nu intrau in plicuri, acum toata lumea vrea cutii.

A Week in My Studio (O saptamana in atelierul meu)

Welcome to my studio!
Today we are going to start making 55 invitations for Cindy's masquerade birthday party.

Yes, you read right: 1 week for 55 invitations. Do you still want to make invitations? hehe... you really have to love it in order to be able to make something like this. It is no easy job. Sorry to discourage you.

This is what we are going to make.

I have already made the design, sent a proof to Ciny for approval, ordered the materials, so only the actual production part is left. Don't ask how much the initial preparation took because I don't quantify it. That is real pleasure to savor.


The first step is to trace the masks.



Then cut along the traced lines. I used scissors for the outside and X-acto knife for the inside.



Emboss the masks with the cuttlebug and Victoria folder. Thank you, Provo Craft, I love this design :)



Since the paper we are using for the masks is Core'dinations White Wash (which along with Black Magic is my favorite of their line), we are now sanding the embossed design to reveal the beautiful core in shades of pink. Then sponge some gold paint for added intricacy.



Finish off the mask with a black embossed fleur de lis also from Provo Craft. Thanks again, I love this design too and i also love the Textile folder (these are my top 3).



Prepare the gatefold cards, emboss, sponge gold ink, adhere inside gold layer. This is basic stuff, you know how to to it, right?

We are almost ready. All we need is to adhere the final vellum layer.



Although I have 2 paper trimmers, I sometimes prefer using a ruler and craft knife. It gives me much more precision. ....talking about "HAND MADE"



Invitations ready. They were sent to guests in golden envelopes. Sorry I don't have a picture of them.

Cindy's 21'st Birthday Masquerade Invitations (Invitatii la Bal Mascat pentru Cindy)

Today I was supposed to show you another valentines project but I just found out today is not the day so I will have to leave it to February 15.

Azi trebuia sa va prezint un nu proiect de Valentines, dar tocmai am aflat ca am gresit ziua si de fapt pe 15 februarie va fi online.

They were inspired by Princess Emily's invitations, but we decided to give up the fuchsia rose and replace it with some feathers.

Designul a fost inspirat de invitatia pentru ziua printesei Emily. Am renuntat insa la trandafir si l-am inlocuit cu pene.




Here I ripped off Emily's invitation wording just to see how it wold look on the new version.
I also changed the Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock to a complete black one.

When I was working at these invitations I took step by step photos so I could someday share the process of making them. So I hope that someday next week I will find the time to finally post about my handmade invitations work process.

Invitaciones para una fiesta de Mariposas

Have I ever told you that I love foreign languages?
Today I have learned a new word in Spanish: "Mariposas" means "butterflies".

V-am spus vreodata ca imi plac limbile starine?
Azi am invatat un cuvant nou in spaniola: "Mariposas" inseamna "fluturasi".

I was looking for my traffic sources and found one of my butterfly invitations on chicade15.com.
Am gasit un nou articol despre invitatiile mele cu fluturasi in timp ce imi analizam sursele de trafic.
