I was honored to contribute wardrobe styling to a recent editorial for Project Wedding. The lovely and talented Chelsea (of Frolic! blog fame) orchestrated the photo shoot beautifully--who else could find a gorgeous English-style glasshouse within reach of Portland? I can only take credit for the bride's dress and pinafore--so many talented people participated. Full story and credits here.

When I was planning my wedding, I was given and (stupidly) purchased several books that ended up being a huge waste. I didn't really need someone to tell me that I was a horrible person registering for my honeymoon or how to match my flower girl's dresses to my man's tie to my bridesmaid's underwear so everything would be exactly perfect for the big day. Although I'm sure plenty of people think the folks who read Offbeat Bride are pretty weird, for me it was one of those blips of normalcy among all the wedding madness.

Getting inspired.

I'm pulling long hours at the studio this week and next, getting ready for our annual fashion show. I usually take early mornings and late nights to page through my scrapbooks, so that by the time I sit down at the machine I am fueled by fresh energy and ideas. Love the unusual shoulder on this vintage beaded gown.

Yes, I realize that I did not makeup the idea of doggie table numbers...in fact I think I found the idea on many a knottie bride's bio - but it is still flattering to see that someone found inspiration in one of the ideas that I used. Check out:
