Kaka: There will be no rivalry between me and Ronaldo.

Fifa’s 2007 World Player of the Year, Ricardo Kaka, was finally unveiled as a Real Madrid player on Tuesday, June 30.

There was a memorable and glamorous ceremony conducted at the Santiago Bernabeu where over 40,000 fans gathered to see the event. Kaka also made his first press conference as an official Real Madrid player.

Among the numerous questions that fell on the table, an obvious one did not miss out. Kaka, who dreams of winning another Ballon d’Or award, was asked whether there will be a rivalry between him and Ronaldo in Real Madrid.

Looking at Jorge Valdano, the Brazilian playmaker bombastically repeated:

“Will CR7 be a rival?”

As the press was anxiously waiting for his response, he went on to declare:

“There is no rivalry. He will be a team-mate, and we’re compatible players and of course we’re going to be able to play together.

“And off the pitch, there’s no rivalry. This is not the way I am, and not the way I see life and football.

“We are both winners, we both have the same ambitions, so I think we both have the same objectives.”

Kaka and Ronaldo are poised to make their debut in a Real Madrid shirt later this month, when Los Blancos face L.D.U in the Peace Cup tournament staged in Andalusia.
